OVERVIEW:
We needed a way to get young teenage guys to be aware of and request a sample of OXY pimple cream which was specifically designed for male skin. To capture their attention we mashed together the ‘best’ pimple popping videos from youtube in a disturbing but highly shareable web film with a call to action to request a free sample at the end. The video received 800,000 views within three days of launching and almost instantly sold out of samples. It has since been dubbed “the most disgusting ad of all time” by Business Insider and Adweek alike.
